Nicole was a client from Burundi who originally registered with us in 2008. She then went to University to do a Degree in Law. She had excellent qualifications, and was also bi-lingual speaking French and English, but had no experience in the type of work she wanted to do which was something business based relating to Law. She had worked part time in a coffee shop, and had gained some transferable skills from this, but it was a long way from what she really wanted to be.
2 days after she contacted Liverpool in Work for support, her adviser received a telephone call, from Rachel in the Business Team, to ask if he had any French speaking clients for a PA to the Director at Yanco. A company that deals in International business including Africa. Her adviser thought of Nicole immediately and brought her appointment forward so he could bring her in to update her CV with her recent experience and qualifications, and to do a covering letter with her to ensure that they met the employer specifications for the post. He then forwarded this to Rachel and she was invited to interview the next day. Her adviser printed off a job profile of a similar position so she could get a feel for the role and went through some interview techniques with her to boost her confidence. 3 days later, she was offered the position.
Nicole said... I just can’t believe how quickly everything has fallen into place. My life has changed completely within a few days, and my confidence is soaring. I am thrilled at the way things have happened, and its all thanks to my Guidance Officer and the Business Team at Liverpool in Work. I have told everyone how fantastic Liverpool in Work has been in my community, and I would recommend them to anyone.
